However, he said that if the club is forced to pay $50,000, as some had suggested, then the club(Please see COUNTY, Page 2)Judge: Trailerscan stayBy Richard HatchCitizen ReporterA new battle front opened up for the residents of Poinciana Mo bile Home Park when park owners told three residents they needed to move their trailers.Circuit Judge Hello Gomez ruled in the residents favor and told the park owners representative he would need a court order to have the trailers relocated.The homeowners had recently gone to court to protest theirmonthly rent Increase calling it aretaliatory action on the part of the park owners.That legal action took a back seat last week when workers building the Duck Avenue housing complex removed a tree stump from the yard of one of the trailer park residents. About two dozen of the homeowners showed up in court Friday with their at tomey Roger McClelland, to protest.The mobile home park owner's representative, John Tool, said the trailers needed to be moved because they encroached on the Duck Avenue Polo Club's property-He said a recent survey by Phillips and Trice indicated part of the trailers were on Polo Club property. Tool did not contest the survey even though the trailers had been located on the present site for at least 15 years.Tool said he wanted to avoid a law suit and move the trailers as expeditiously as possible. He said the park ownership would pay for the relocation expenses.Jack Phillips of Philips and Trice told the court the first survey taken by his companyshowed the trailers did not encroach.Suspected drugs dropped off KeysMIAMICustoms officerstracking a twin-engine plane watched Wednesday as the pilot dropped three bundles of suspected drugs to two boats below him near the Florida Keys.Customs officers in a Cessna Citation jet and a Sikorsky Black Hawk helicopter followed the Cessna 337 from the Keys and forced it to land at Fort Lauderdale International Airport, said Customs spokesman Michael Sheehan.Federal authorities arrested the aircraft owner and pilot James Lyndon. 59, of Honeoye Falls. N.Y.. and charged him with attempting to import marijuana and failure to report entry into the country.“We're still searching for the suspected countraband and the vessels, Sheehan said late Wednesday night. We've boarded several vessels, but without the contraband on them, it’s hard topinpoint which ones were involved . ’’Customs' aviation group supervisor Larry Karson said authorities are sure Lyndon dropped narcotics. “It’s either cocaine or marijuana. There’s no doubt about that.”Authorities also seized the airplane for having illegal modifications. Customs found an illegal fuel system aboard as well as a modified pilot's window for the air drop. Sheehan said.Sheehan said Customs’ radar detected a suspicious aircraft flying below 500 feet about 70 miles southwest of Key West.After following the plane’s northerly flight. Customs launched the Citation and the helicopter which witnessed the pilot drop three bundles of suspected contraband to two waiting boats about 15 miles southeast of Tavemier in the northern Kevs. Sheehan said.City adds supportfor undersea pipelineThe Key West City Commission has agreed to support Pritam Singh’s request that he be allowed to use an undersea pipeline to Tank Island.Commissioners unanimously agreed to execute a letter of nonobjection to the Florida Department of Natural Resources on be half of the city.Singh wants to use the existing pipeline to transmit utilities to Tank Island, recently renamed Sunset Island by the Sikh developer from Maine.The Island is slated to be a resort complex with a 77-unit hotel, recreational facilities, a dolphin research center and two restaurants. It will be accessible only by ferry.The pipelines were originally installed by the Navy to feed the two fuel storage tanks wtiich gave the island its former name.
