A plea of guilty was entered byCecil Borders, 22,1 west Taylor street*to- a charge of assault and battery, with Ernest Pickett, 258 John'street, as prosecuting witness, in the court of A. J. Williams, justice of the peace, this afternoon. Borders was assessed a fine of~$l and costs, which ho paid.The incident occurred last 'Sept. 26, when the two men were-said to have become engaged -in a quarrel.Borders had been living in Illinois% * ,for the last two months and when he arrived at home Monday night, Constable Elmer Marks, arrested him and placed him in jail pending the hearing.
