He was Mean, all Right, but Didn’t Steal Neighbor’s HogsMorton Pinch, seven miles east of Oxford, was arrested Monday by federal officers charged with tampering with United States mail. He is alleged to have opened letters belonging to his neighbors which he secured from their rural route boxes. Before U. S. Commissioner E. Burleigh Davidson his bond was fixed at |500which he could not give and was taken to the Marion county jail. Two years ago Finch was tried for stealing hogs from P. J. Kennedy of Templeton and was acquitted when his attorney characterized him as the “meanest and most contemptible man in Benton county. He will lie and steal and do almost anything bad, but he did not stea I Pat Kennedy's hogs.”
