Farmer Tortured.Hamilton, 0., Dec. 19.—Incensed by their failure to find $3,000 which they believed their victim had concealed id his house, four masked men tortured Michael Fryman, 45, a farmer living alone north of this city. Fryman denied that he had hidden treasure, and a hot poker and acid were applied by his torturers in the hope of extorting a confession. Finally the helpless man was knocked senseless with a blow and left for dead.
