Woman’arrest tiedto murder of MasonSuspect had connection to Masonic group that was focus of embezzlement probe.MANCHESTER (AP) - AGoffstown woman was being held without bail Monday after being arrested in connection with a stabbing death and arson in Manchester.Bonnie Bickford was arraigned Monday in Manchester District•FCourt with embezzlement and arson charges but had not beencharged in the death of Walter Page, whose body was found in his burning home Thursday.Assistant Attorney General Joe Laplante said Bickford embezzled more than $1,000 from a Masonic group to which Page belonged. Shealso admits to trying to light Mason Conrad Lkdahl's home on fire, he said.“For that reason her conduct is also viewed as having a connection to the Page homicide,' Laplante said.Laplante asked for bail to be denied because he believes Bickford will lice and “she is very dan-lt;rgerous and a threat to the community.Bickford, 49, was arrested Sunday in Weare after eluding police for several days, Laplante said.Members of Page's Masonic group have received death threats recently in addition to the murder of Page and the molotov cocktail that burned the door of Ekdahl's home.Authorities sav the threats havewa common link, the case of Rene Lemire, the former Masonic retirement home administrator sent to prison last week for stealing more than $100,000 from residents there.Walter Page, 7b. received a telephone threat on Tuesday from someone saying he would blow up Page's home for what he did to Lemire. Page was stabbed to death and his house torched on Thursday. Mason’s officials say he had nothing to do with the Lemire case.Page was treasurer of a Manchester Masonic lodge and financial adviser to several Masonic groups.Police reports indicate thatthreats had been made against Page, Conrad Ekdahl and John Williams. Williams, was head trustee of the Masonic Home when the Lemire theft was uncovered.
