(U.R — Police today investigated reports ol the death of another elderly woman associated with Allred Leonard Cline, ex-convict charged with the murder of one widow and under investigation in the death of seven others.Distric* Attorney Edmund Brown said he had recdved a letter lroni Dr. Nora R. Miller, Ripley, Calif-, which said Cline was the man she believed had left his wife and two tons to elope with, a young woman named Annabelle O’Laughlin iu Ft. Collins. Colo.Brown dated the alleged incident as “sometime in the ’20s.“The girl died suddenly, the letter asserted, and her body was shipped back to her family.“Her fine clothes and jewelry were missing and her nude body shocked them.” the letter said.Police said Cline's wife and one of his sons, mentioned in the letter, died. (ff) — Solicitor General Charles Garrett said today that a local mortuary employe had identified a picture of Alfred Leonard Cline of San Francisco, as the man who made arrangements for the cremation here of the body of Mrs. Alma Wflla Carter.Signatures of an F. A. Klein and of Mrs. Carter were found yesterday by detectives on a Macon hotel register of Feb. 17, 1944. The signature; will be compared with handwriting specimens of Alfred Leonard Cline and with a Mrs. Alice W. Carpenter.
