Unidentified Gunman FleesA Kansas City man wounded twice Saturday night was reported in good condition today at Independence hospital.Police identified the wounded man as Gene Homer Sullivan, who gave his age as “a little underAccording to police, Sullivan was w'ounded by an unidentified assailant while he was waiting in front of a tavern at 13700 E. Kentucky, to keep a date with a barmaid.Sullivan sustained awound of the index fingerof Ha kit band when hebrushed the assailant’s revolver away from his (Sullivan’s) midriff. The bullet then penetrated Sullivan’s left leg.Police say Sulivan told them he was waiting in his car when two men approached. One of them hadt weapon end the Kansas Citian.According to police, Sullivan was unable to give a description of his assailant. Apparently there were no other witnesses.
