Jackson. 39, of Hobbs, was recaptured at 8:30 a.m. by Capt. Herbert Cunningham of the Lovington PoliceDept..He and the others had escaped at 7 a.m. by grabbing thenight jailor, R. A. Lambright, 59, as he opened a cell doorto hand in their mops and buckets for a cleaning detail.Lambright was left locked in the cell.Information was sketchy onJackson’s capture but radio reports from the field indicated hewas taken while hiding in a barn. The other three were found holedup in an apartment buikfing.They were Cecil Ray Rinehart,23, of Hobbs, committed on Dec.2 from one to 10 years in the state prison for grand larceny, but still held in the county jail pending disposition of several misdemeanor charges.Thomas J. Burleson Jr., 20, no address, serving 90 days for petty larceny, also wanted by Rockport, Tex., authorities on a charge of theft by bailee;I. W. Lea, 29, of Melrose, heldfor destruction of county property and also on a detainer from Por-taies on a forgery charge.Jackson was held on I wo charges, obtaining money or prop erty with intent to cheat or defraud and breaking and entering, j He was awaiting hearing in dis- j triet court, IMonthYear's TopsIn BuildingIssuance of more than $100,*000 in building permits today virtually assured that December will prove the year's record month, with J1 million or more in permit valuation.Eleven permits were takenout today for new dwellings inthe 2300 and 2400 blocks of Rol-land Avenue in the Dale Bella* mah Addition. Permit valuationfor the new residences was $103,-000, according to Building Inspector James Huggins.Pteviousiy this month, permits have been taken out for the Gerald Champion Memorial Hospital project, the educational building of the First Baptist Church, a new business buildingin the 800 block of New YorkAvenue to house a Gamble store, as well as others for residential and commercial building or remodeling.
