CED.AiR RAPIDS, Dec. 28.—IK.KI —Having lost track of George H tick ins and his father, Elmer Huckins, who disappeared from Excelsior Springs, Mo., and 'Hancock, Wis.. respectively, officers today speculated on the rumor they were en. route* to Cedar LRap-ids to surrender-on warrants issued . late Tuesday.: •They are charged; with obtaining money under 'false jreteiises. The men offered returns ranging from 26 to 52 per cent on money, invested with them.The Warrants were based on information. supplied by ' William Spsas, manager of the Cedar Rapids Baseball club. It was alleged the. pair, obtained more than $3,-000.000 from investors.Assets Only $1,000Both men disappeared last week when their financial bubble collapsed, So far only $1,000 of their assets has been recovered.Speas charged in his complaint he had been persuaded to ’Invest”$6,000 with the Huckins concern in the belief his exhorbitant: interest rates were .coming from the, profits , of a wholesale cigar business.It was on :Sept. 24 that Speas , contributed to the Huckins ..iSr.an-i.cial scheme,' his : complaint said,1 and he never has been repaid.: Bond was set at $10,000 by Judge !
