Whisky Trial. -On Saturday last, Mr. Eli Fryman, of Esselburn's Corners, was brought before Esquire Dyer, on the charge of violating the laws of Ohio, by selling whisky by the drink. The prosecuting witness in the case was Charles Fenstermaker, who made affidavit that himself and others, had purchased and drank whisky upon the premises of suid Fryman. Mr. Fryman plead guilty to the charge, and was fined S10 and cost of the suit; the whole amounting to $14.25. He was let off thus easily with the understanding that lie should discontinue selling liquor. Being also notified that if it was ascertained that lie did -ell any more, there were several cuses already made up against him, which would be prosecuted. It is to bo hoped that he went homo a wiser if not a better man. This suit brought out something of a joke upon some of our township officers, who occasionally ‘‘a?rule’ when away from home R.
