Hariiu JDlMttoii,, Mr. S. D. tVabd of Bailey’s Harbor, writes us that the small trading schooner Gen. Grant broke loose from- her moorings at Kilgore’s pier on the night of the ( 8th inst., during a terrible gale from the j south and went ashore at the head of the bay. It is probable£tbat she will be got off with little damage as she went on almost high and dry on the sand. Ho also sends us particulars of the loss of the scb. Blue Bell. She went ashore outside of Bailey’s Harbor, north of the channel, near the light house, staving a bole in her starboard quarter and filling in', five feet of water. She was loaded with lumber and shingles from Manistee, Both vessel and cargo uninsured. The £tug Kitty Smoke made an effort to get her off but has probably failed. A part of the cargo has drifted ashore.ft** • * * . •l-ptttncs.
