£iea|)itd from a Dungeon Cell,James Ring, on complaint of Officer Cutter,was arraigned before Judge Baldwin at Brightontoday, charged with being a common drunkard.The cnarge being sustained James was given six months in the house of correction, but appealed. During the trial Ring used language to the officer that was not vorv gentlemanly, and continued his abuse after repeated warnings from his honor. Judge Baldwin finally held Ring for contempt of court, and sentenced him to ten days’ imprisonment. James was taken from the court-room by the officer and placed in No, 1 cell in Station 14. A short time afterwards the cell was visited, and it was found that James had taken bis departure, and the officers are now diligently looking al ter him. How he managed to open the door is a mystery, and the matter seems to call for an investigation by the commissioners.
