Last September Musselliuau engage iu a quarrel with Patrick Qualey, acitizen of Danvers, over a bucket of water.A lively scuffle ensued, iu which Mu^sell-umn kicked Qualey in such a manner as to produce death. He was given a trial Kep-t« miter of lost year, at which time the jury disagreed. His second trial has been continued four times, until the present, whenthe attorneys announced themselves readyfor a trial. The people were represented by Kta'iH Attorney Miner and Assistant Ed O'Conuell, while Mussellmau left his case iu the hands of Messrs. James 8. Ewing and Thomas 0. Kerrick, who insde an excslleut case for ths defense. A jury was obtained and both sides made a clear presentation of the case, Mr. Miner for the peoule, and Mr. Ewing for the defendant. A large amount of evidence was brought out ou both sides, it requiring two days to give it. All day Thursday was utilized by the attorneys in lengthy arguments. At ten minutes past six that night the lt;use wan given to the jury. Theytook an informal ballot, which resulted i ,to 8 for acquittal. The first formal ballot resulted 2 to 10 for acquittal, and at eleven o'clock the jury reached a verdict of “not guilty. They eaine in next morning and j Mulsiellmau goes free.
