Mayor Stuart, of Spring Valley, last week removed from office Alex Perion, official bridge tender. When council met the mayor reported the action telling, the aldermen that Perion was incompetent, and had been drunk while 011 duty The aldermen refused to stand back of the mayor, all of them voting against a motion to approve the action of their chief. Perino is still on the pay roll.
