300 Friends Fight to SaveDoomed ManALBION CP)-~A one-time Missouri farm boy scheduled to die next month for the murder of his father-in-law, has a committee of ' Orlears County citizens fighting In ■ his defense.More than 300 persons held a. protest meeting last night in the same court room in which Lloyd George Inman, only a week ago,: heard himself sentenced to the. electric chair.They tossed in $689.95 on the spot and pledged another $J200 to help hire a criminal lawyer to handle Inman’s appeal,THIS MEETING is not to be construed as condoning murder as a method for the solving of a problem, nor are we here to cast reflections on any public official who has performed his duty, said the Rev, Earle J. Hamlin, chairman of the group.But, the pastor of Albion Presbyterian Church declared, there might be some question as to whether Inman had beer, ‘'unduly provoked by his fath?r-in-law, George Larson, 56.The 29-year-old Inman admitted the shotgun slaying, but asserted Larson and come between him and his wife, Gladys.If an appeal for a retrial fails, Hamlin added, 1 assume that all you here now will be willing to sign a petition to present to the Governor.ALSO PRESENT at livsf night\ meeting was Inman’s faiher, Isaac L. Inman, 54, of Cole Cdmp, Mo. He has been hero since the trial opened several weeks ago.Inman was convicted of first degree murder in the killing. He was moved to Sing Sing Prison yesterday and his execution is scheduled for the week of Jan. 16.Harry Cooper and Burroughs Strickland, defense attorneys assigned by the court, have announced their intention to appeal.Miss Virginia Ostrander, 34, Inman’s alleged accomplice, was found not guilty by reason of insanity. She was ordered committed to a state institution.%
