A large v umber of projects have already been completed since the paving operations began last June, and others are to be completed sometime during the early part of 1930.It is claimed by the Highway commissioner that the greatest setback in the carrying out of the road program has been the shortage of materials and the delays necessitated by this shortage. Weather conditions, too, have served as a handicap in some instances. Some of the projects and the progress that has been made on them include the following:The Hammond-Amite project, 15.G5 miles. Ten miles have been completed and opened for traffic. The remainder will be completed early in 1930.
