For several years the rustling has been confined to the plains country north and east of here, but the numeroussmall herds in the hills have been J free from maruders. Within the j past month numerous complaints )Ace. from owners in Lawrence county. nearNahant and Meritt, and in Pennington county, near Rochford. have come to the authorities that cattle are being systematically spirited away. In nearly every case it is an old cow that has been in the habit of coming regularly to the saltlicks.
