Mrs. Eliza D., widow ot the late Cyrus Wheeler, died at her daughter’s residence, In Cleveland, on Saturday, De-cember 5th, oi disease of the heart. Her remains were brought to this city for interment, and impressive luneral services were oonduoted in the Congregational chapel, on Monday afternoon, by her pastor, Rev. E. E. Williams. For nearly forty years Mrs. Wheeler has been a resident ol Elyria, beloved by all for her unselfish devotion to the social, moral and intellectual elevation of those around her, and her death 1b deeply lamented. She had nearly attained her eightieth year, and what is quite unusual, was the fourth member of her family who died within the period of a little more than one year, Mr. Cyrus Wheeler, the husband and father, died October 5th, 1SS4, at his residence In this city, and his daughter, Mrs. Nettie Fisher, died in Bridgeport, 0., nearly the 6ame hour, on the same day. Mtb. Lucy A. Squires, the eldest child, died on the 15th of last January, and now the sainted mother has closed her long and useful life, leaving a memory fraught with good deeds, that will long be cherished by the wide circle in which she moved.
