J.McLeod at police headquarters about 7 o’clock last-night that his wife left their automobile to go into a store. When she had not returned after what be thought wassufficient time, a young man employed by the couple, found her in a store. She told him she had one more purchase to make—but she did not return to the dr.• Upon reporting to thnuffioer, Dr. Simons assured him tbR he would report to the police if she were located. At S o’clock this morning the deskman had not heard from the doctor, who is said to be a veterinarian by profession.Herald reporters made two trips to the Whitfield Estates home of the couple about 11 o’clock last night and again shortly before 2 o’clock this morning but were unable to raise anyone at the Simonsresidence.The Herald learned this morning that a woman, somewhat resembling the description given by Dr. Simons, had been seen on the Ta-mimi trail. Just north of Bowlee’s creek in Manatee county, about 8 o’clock last night, walking towards Bradenton. The party reporting this said that the woman on the road was outlined by. lights on a car coming from the direction in whifch she was walking and appear ed to be well-dressed. Mrs. Simons was described as about 45 years old, weighing 160 pounds, about five feet and eight inches tall, Wearing a brown bat, green coat, and a checkered brown and green dress. She has dark brown hair with a slight tinge of gray.
