FUNERAL SERVICES.Mrs. Hattie Nuslmum Joel.The funeral services of Mrs. Ilattie Nusbaum Joel were held at 9 o’clock this morning at her late residence, 309 North Second street, and were conducted by Dr. Norden of Chicago, a rabbi of one of the Jewish congregations of that citv.After reading the 19th Psalm, Dr. Norden delivered an address on “The Precarious Tenure of Lile and t he Certainty of Death.’’ He extolled the virtues of the deceased as a mother, wife, daughter and friend. He gave special praise to her faithfulness to her faith, Being almost alone in the community as a believer in the Jewish religion, she steadfas ly adhered to its principles, and always paid due regard to the fundamental doctrine of Judaism tijat ail men alike are children of our Heavenly Father, and should ever treat each other in a brotherly spirit, regardless of differences in religious faith.The remains were taken to Burlington on the morning train and the interment made in the Jewish cemetery there.
