First Witness Called In Poker Game KillingMILWAUKEE— U.P) —John Dugan, 28, Milwaukee, was the first witness called to the stand in the court trial of Richard Rutledge. 28. who is charged with first degree murder.Dugan testified Wednesday that Rutledge and McGee, operator of a social cli^b who was shot fatally Aug 29, played a two handed game of poker from midnight until early Aug. 29. Dugan said that about 7 a. m. Rutledge went into the washroom and came out brandishing a gun with which he allegedly shot McGee. Rutledge then turned the gun on Dugan, saying “you’re next,** according to Dugan’s testimony.“I jumped for the stairs,** Dugan said, “and ran outdoors to call police.” Dugan asserted that McGee had not cheated in the game.
