FRANCIS SCANLON ROBBEDFrancis Scanlon, 23, was slugged and robbed of $5 by two men at about 9 o’clock Monday evening in front of the Kukkuck home on North Main street as he returned home from town.Scanlon was first discovered lying unconscious nearly half an hour later by Hed Hall and Francis Conlin, who were driving by. Seeing what looked like a heavy object in the hand of the prostrate man, whom he aid not recognize. Hall drove downtown and returned with W. W. Garhan and Lee Simpson.They found Scanlon clutching his wallet, still unconscious. He was restored and given treatment. He said that he had been accosted by two men who demanded his money. When he attempted to fight them off, one slugged him on the back of the head. He was unconscious about 45 minutes.
