STOLE ROBES/Ira Hoidiman and Albert Smith were arrested late yesterday afternoon, charged with stealing two buffalo robes and one lap robe from J. W. Leeper, in Mt. Vernon township, Kov. ’ 27. A search warrant resulted in the discovery of the goods. The accused were taken before J usfcice Mosher this morning and pleaded guilty to lareeny, the value of the goods being fixed at $15. They were sentenced to 20 days in jail. and then, another case was begun against them for grand larceny, the value of the goods being fixed at $50.: A change was taken to Justice Kennedy and the case was set for 3 p. m. today. When Hoidiman was arrested there were chicken feathers in his pocket and he confessed to officer Fen3terma-ker that he had stolen a chicken in the country. Smith is a colored boy and is said to be the son of a colored barber who formerly worked here.
