Claude Pinnick, the young man who shot and killed Everett Compton on the reunion grounds at West Baden last August, was last week found guilty of manslaughter in the Orange Circuit Court. The verdict carries with it a penalty of from two to twenty-one years. His attorney filed motion for a new trial and arguments will be heard and decision rendered during the present term of court. The age of the defendant being less than thirty years, if the new trial is denied, he will be sentenced to the reformatory at Jeffersonville.
