Will Adams, who is believed to have been behind it all, and put others up to the dirty work, has at fast reached the endlt;of bis rope and is now in the toils of ihe law The latest outrage waB perpetrated at Lisoomb Inst week, on Phillip Bittner by John McKinnon and Benjamin Bittner, the latter a son of PhiUop Bittner, in which they otemptnd to gat the property of Phillip Bittner. A warrant for their arrest, charging them with robbery, was sworn out last Saturday before Justice Melick, of Liscomb, and tboy were brought to this city, remaining in jail over Sunday. On investigation of the facts after the arrest, it was thought best to change the charge to maliciously accusing Phillip Bittner of having criminal connection with Miss Eva Fsher, the giri in regard to whom an ucconnt was given some time ago, and that their accusation was made against the old man with intent to exort money from him. The new information was filed before Justice Stotts yesterday afternoon, and Will Adams, the manwho figured in the settlement of thecase against Betijamin Bittner and lnffy Berry, and also in the case of Flora E. Holder vs. T. S. Weatherly, was also joined with the other two men. Adams was found in town, where the officers say he has been since the arrest of Bittner and McKinnon. He was arrested and (heir bonds fixed at $200, which were sined by B. F. Cumrainr.s. Adams and Bittner were realeased, but McKinnon is still in fail. Several of the people of Liscomb were here yesterday, and report a feeling of excitement over the crimes commited in their vicinity, and claim at least one of the principal instigators of a number of offences is now under arrest.
