Putting lii* Head in Ihe Lion’s Ioi I’i.Thomas Proud, living at Sabina, in this county, who keeps a whisky shop there to themnoyanee of the citiiens, was indicted some time ago for keeping a grocery, c., but escaped being arrested by dodging the Sheritlnbout Court tiuio, came to this place on lastTuesday to transact some business, anl while here was waited on bv the Sheriff who con-ducted him to the “Irvin House'’ and locked him up for safe keeping and future use. He succeeded in finding bail, however, for his appearance at the next term of Court, and wa»permitted to return to his home.
