Bishop surrendered atsiyfhe police station'shortly afterwards andif. charged with murder. Both men are former residents of Baldwin county and had been In Mobile about five months and were all living together In the homewhere the killing occurred. Mrs. Florence who Is th« divorced wife of Bishop, was the only eye-witness to the killing. Florence was shot in the right shouldor with a bullet from a 88 caliber revolver. She secured a divorce, he said, and married Florence about six months ago. I was sent for by my former wife several months ago. who told me that she wanted me to bring our three children to Mobile and educate them in the public school* hare, I brought the children here and paid the house rent and expenses of the children and lived In the same house with her and Florence,*' said Bishop.Howard Bishop, brother of the.man who is charged with the killing, made a statement at the police station that his brother paid the* rent for the house and that all of them, meaning himself, his brother and Florence, the wife and three children were living In the same house.Sergeant Joseph Connlck and William Arnold, who made. further Investigation of the killing, went to the Florence home this morning and found the pistol that Bishop is alleged to haver used to do the killing, hidden on a shelf in a clothes closet. Joseph. Lacey, is a niece of her first husband. The detective says that the couple formerly resided at Bay Mlnette and that the marriage was declared null and void on account of the relationship. The detective said that. Mrs., Florence told him that Biahdp came Into her room and demanded that she get up and fix breakfast and that Florence wanted to know what he had to do with her, that the two menwere about to fight after cursing each other and that as Florence was putting on his clothes.
