LS NOT THE MANWANTED IN DEFIANCE“No, that’s not my pard,” said Wm. Shelly, who is confined in the Ohio pen for attempting to rob farmer Geo. Geiger near Defiance last May, when shown a photograph ofthe man held in Detroit, thought to be Loren Pole, Shelly’s partner. “If it was I would say so because I’m sore on him. He didn’t treat me right and it’s my turn now.”The attempted robbery occurred on a country road leading into this city, May last. Two men attempted .to hold Geiger up Geiger was game, however, and fought. Shelly was captured 'andis serving his time in the pen. His partner, whose name, Shelly says is Loren Pole, escaped. Recently Hubbard received word from Detroit that they were holding a man there on suspicion thought to be Pole. A photograph of the man was sent to Shelly at the pen for identification but Shelly says it isn’t the man.
