A Brutal Outraire.Lucy White, of this village, a girl about thirteen years old, was brutally assaulted last Friday night by some unknown man. She was going to her home in tho north part of the village, Uaviug been calling at the residence of Anson Higley. Soon after leaving Mr. Higley’s she saw that she was followed by a man wearing a long overcoat. The first that she was aware that the man was nearing her, she received a blow on the head that laid her prostrate. The fellow then grabbed her by the hair, saying: “d—m you, I’ve got you now. and commenced nulling her along. The girl, frightened nearly out of her wits, screamed for her mother, and on hearing her voice the fellow turned and fled. Tho supposition is that the man supposed it was another woman, and was not aware of hi mistake until he heard her voice.
