Snowmobilers Alerted to LegislationThe future of snowmobiling in Wisconsin depends on action by snowmobilers and their associations and not on “idiotic solutions” proposed by some task force appointed by the governor, members of the Lions Club were told Thursday night at Pine woodLodge.The warning was sounded by Gordon Kniskern of Medford, executive secretary of theCentral Division of the U.S. Snowmobile Assn. andpresident-elect of the division.Kniskern, who issuperintendent of schools atMedford, has worked out of the Central Division office in Rhinelander in his USSAcapacity.Kniskern said snowmobilers must realize they can't wait around for some state agency to establish rules and regulations and then find they have to react after the damage is done. ‘‘Snowmobilers mustbe concerned now not later,” he declared.The speaker pointed tosome of the noise levels suggested by various agencies as an indication of the type' ofsaid manysuch asadvanced for control snowmobiling.
