They face felony charges of larceny of a motor vehicle. Colford is charged also with operating without a license. The long tracking pursuit by Patrolmen Delmolino and Joseph E. Charon also disclosed that Savoy Road Commissioner John P. Pavia assisted in getting the vehicle unstuck from a snow drift. The episode began, police reported,Hut Anaralni' nf llut nali'nlmDii'cScout pick-up, Stanley Swistak Jr. of Cheshire, stopped at Matt’s Pizza Shop, Commercial St., to have a cup of coffee. The operator left the jeep with the snow plow blade down, Police Chief John A. Tarsa said, and parked in the lot. He came out to find it proceeding south and operated, a witness told him, by two young men.Chief Tarsa said Patrolman Delmolino, working the Summer Street beat, was alerted and joined Patrolman Charon to begin the tracking effort. They followed the path of the plow, in falling snow, up Leonard Street where it took a right on the state highway.Chief Tarsa said the patrolmen stopped at Matt’s Lodge in Savoy and learned the suspected pair had just left. They then encountered Mr. Pavia, busily plowing Savoy's roads, and were told he just assisted in freeing the stuck plow. The chief related that the patrolmen continued on Route 116, and observed that the vehicle had turned off toward Windsor Pond after entering a corner of the town of Plainfield. They came upon the jeep near Windsor Pond, where it was again stuck withits horn sounding in quest of aid. The. patrolmen gave the aid and arrested the pair, Chief Tarsa concluded.Special Justice Henry W. Kaliss continued the cases in District Court this morning for one week.InAdamsAndCheshire!...COMINGSOON!DEMAND!For Single and Double Homes, along with Country Property, In Adams or Cheshire!
