Mrs. McCoy files the suit to ob-i tain a division of spoils. It is said that be-I' fore the case is settled it will furnish a neat | little sensation, in that several well known people will be drawn into it. Yesterda it was said that the subject of diamonds, overcoats and gold rings would be brought inas a side issue. As is well known to many people, Bud McCoy and Flo Thompson have lived in Terre Haute for a number of years. Bud McCoy owns a number of houses on Norik Second and Eagle streets. In fact, it is doubtful if McCoy would invest in property off of Second street. Bud McCoy came to Terre Haute several years ago almost penniless. He is a horse trader and, by dint ol an admirable nerve and good judgment, he became worth some $50 or $100. This amount he invested in furniture and, having fitted out a suite of rooms, Flo Thompson became mistress of a dive. This is where Bud McCoy’s prosperity began. Soon after he Und 4he Thompson woman began keeping the house he starlet a saloon. He made money at this bis'.ne*s and it was not long before he purchased a house on Secondgt r£gt.Years passed and McCoy bought other property. Today he is the owner of not less than half a dozen houses on the street, all of which are inhabited by loose characters. He charges a big rent but the location of the houses always insures them occupancy. Early last spring McCoy and the woman he calls his wife had a quarrel. It was all on account of the woman becoming too familiar with another man, whose name is known to a few policemen. She left McCoy and since that time has lived apart from him. Today Mrs. McCoy conducls a pla e on the street and it is said that her former husband gave the property to her.But it would seem that she is not satisfied with the division, for in the suit filed yesterday she alleges that while she and McCoy were in partnership and while she was conducting a resort that he became worth some $10,000 or $50,000. Mrs. McCoy aUeges that she helped make the money and therefore is entitled to half of it. She also alleges that she put some money into the business. H is a well known fact that McCoy Is worth a good deal of money, probably not rs much as Mrs. McCoy sues for, but enough to live very comfortably on for the remainder of his natural days. The attorneys for the woman procured an injunction against McCoy in ■which he is prohibited from disposing of any of his property pending the trial of tho case.learned nothing.
