The men arefanners and reside abt uttwo miles from Edwardsville, on the Galena road. Some tim« ago Wilt, who is the owner of a fanu in that locality leased it to Per* kins. The nature of the lease stipulatedthat no stock should be permitted to pasture on the premises, but it appears that ! P«*rkius deviated from the understanding as agreed upon by the two, and allowed his stock to ruu at large on the place. Wilt went to him and requested that the ! stock be taken up, but Perkins failod to! comply with the request, and Wilt wasj necessarily compelled to diive the stock off the farm, which so incensed Perkins, that he procured a revolver, and meeting Wilt lo the barn yard, fired one shot the ball taking effect in Wilt’s back.A physician from Georgetown was summoned who made au examination of the wound, and afterward extricated the ball.
