Vandals hit schoolsVandals have smashed windows in a number of Intertake schools this summer. The hardest hit was Stony Mountain School.Interlake School Division maintenance supervisor Glen Durant said that windows being broken at Stony Mountain is an on-going problem and while it isusually only one at a time, vandals smashed several windows on the August 1 long weekend, including one of the plate glass windows.Three weeks ago, a stone was thrown through the front door at Warren Elementary, and most recently, holes were shot in a door at Stonewall Centennial, most likely with a BB gun.Durant said that while covering school windows with plywood for the summer would help, it would not only be impractical, but would also look disgraceful.RCMP are investigating the incidents.
