the prisoner and were stepped by two men supposed to be Cadeil and a friend ot bis wbp demanded the prisoner. Ot course the officers refused to give tbeir man up and brought him on to town. Cadell it seemed after bis wife’s disap* pearance turned to bard drink as a solace. He was frequently seen drunk in Maxwell and also in Lockhart. His suicide hows ever is a surprise, as but few bad any idea that he had left here.
