I recommend tho repeal of the liquor ordinance forthwith.—' From this henceforth the citizens willfind me on the side of temperance-battling agaiust the monster ardent spirit#* JAMBS SHOAFF.Mayor of the City of Decatur, Illinois,We always thought deaths frequently occur from the excessive use of ardent spirits, and not from tho simple retailing of the critter! The retailing of spirits does’nt hurt any one out this way—it’s the hoggish use of the article that plays the mischief. However, it may work different in the land of crawfish pumps, for all weknow.
