Distillery Is Found lo Pen; Scioto County Prisoner BlamedColumbus, Aug1. 28.—Ail embryo moonshine distillery lias just been uuearthed nt the penitentiary, it is reported. Gutrds, it is said, caught Charles Mims, Scioto county forger, stealing com and molasses from the prison kitchen. Mims, who is said to be a former Kentucky moonshiner, worked in(the prison barber shop. To coii-vicis getting a shave it ia said Mims would give a “tome” which possessed tho “kick” of a real “eyeopcner.”Charles Mims was convicted in the local court of common pleas several month ago on il charge offorgery, fie had secured employment, at the home, of John v R Williams as a chauffeur. A few dnys afterward he forged a'cheek upon Mr. ‘WilliamR. Little was known about his past life. He blaimed ht was originally from North Carolina, having escaped from the state penitentiary there.
