Louis ]. Luehts Hurt In AccidentDrunk Driver Involved; Pays Heavy Fine In County CourtV.V,Louis J. Luchts, 24 11 State street, suffered a severe injury to his back early Thursday morning in an auto* mobile accident on the Mormon coulee road, one block north of the Chicken tavern.Luchts was driving north on the coulee road in a Ford A coupe and ran off the highway in the fog. He asked Alfred Bammert, 614 South Fourth street, who is bartender at tha tavern, to help him get his machine back on the highway and Bammert and Betty Rgmires, tavern proprietor, went to his aid with Bam-roert’s car.They pulled the Luchts* car onto the highway and Luchts was in front of his machine releasing the chain when F. Wode, who was drunk and was also driving north, ran into the rear of the Ford and knocked Luchts down. The Ford ran over Luchts.Bammert and Miss Ramires took Luchts to a local hospital and police were called to the hospital. There police also encountered the drunken driver, who claimed that it was Bammert who hit Luchts* car. Police received the call to the hospital at 5:10 Thursday morning.During the forenoon the drunken driver was taken into county court and pleaded guilty to the charge of driving while intoxicated and paid a fine of $100 and costs and had his driver’s license revoked for one ypar.
