Death of Min. J. A. Zollluger.Mrs. John A. Zollinger, of Clinton township, died of peritonitis on Sun-, day morning last, aged about 27 years. The funeral occurred Monday, the remains being taken to Wolf Lake for burial.Shortly after her death the report became current that she died from the effects of an abortion the operation being performed by Dr. Luella Day. This caused an investigation by Coroner Johnson who was assisted by Prosector Vail, Stenographer Holmes and Drs. Irwin and Whippy. The Coroner filed his report Tuesday afternoon as follows:“I, William W. Johnson, Coroner, having examined the body of Mrs. Blanche Zollinger, and heard the testimony of the witnesses, do hereby find that the said deceased came to her death from peritonitis following a miscarriage produced by Dr. Luella Day.”The evidence upon which the verdict Is based was given principally by Mr. Zollinger, the husband, and Dr. fcjparklin, while Dr. Day swears that she did not produce an abortion and that the deceased had not been pregnant for at least a year past. At any rate the evidence produced at the coroner’s investigation is not suilieient to warrant any legal proceedings and the matter will probably be dropped.
