It appears as though the Professor had packed his gripsack and loft word at the express office to have them rail at Dr. Cady’s office for it. It is also said that, he left with the express driver a card which read; “K. R- Melds. Surtield, Conn,, and told him to fasten the same to the valise. The driver obeyed orders, and took the valise to the express office. At about S o’clock in the evening Constable Middleton went to the express office and took charge of the grip to satis:y an account held by D. J2. Pryor again* t Field. The valise was about to be shipped to Suffieitl, when the officer appeared at theexpress office.
