Jementine Pakos, Former Local Resident, Object of Wide SearchA Davenport girl, who formerly resided in Muscatine, is the object of an intensive police search under way throughout the middle west as the suspected operator of a “badger game” in Chicago which cost Harry B Gochnaur, 72, retired Rochelle, 111., merchant, $9,300.She is Clementine Pakos, sometimes known as Ann Pakos. Her confessed accomplice, Hyman Bernstein, 40, of Chicago, has been arrested by Chicago authorities, and his for Sept. 23 in felony |case set I court.According to news dispatches from Chicago, Bernstein confessed he posed as the “outraged relative” in the familiar confidence game when he found Gochnaur and the girl in a west side Chicago hotel several months ago.
