• A man was charged with aggravated assault Tuesday in connection with a weekend brawl at a posh resort in which Scott Mellanby of the Philadelphia Flyers was injured.Mellanby, 23, one of several people injured, underwent surgery for tendon damage and a severed nerve in his left forearm. He’s expected to remain in hospital for up to 10 days and likely will miss two or three months of the NHL season.Frank Chapelle, 44, of nearby Mississauga, faces two counts of aggravated assault in connection with the brawl that started Saturday night when two people began fighting on the dance floor at the Muskoka Sands Resort in Gravenhurst, north of Toronto.The brawl started after a man approached a friend of Mellan-by’s and tried to cut in on a dance but was refused, Constable Robert Parlardg said.Mellanby, a Montreal native, has played his entire NHL career with the Flyers. He was the team’s second draft choice — 27th overall — in 1984.
