INDICTED ON CHANGE OF SLURRING F, D. R.Peoria, Aug, 24—-A federal indictment charged today that George Alwes, Bloomington, III,, wrote obscene and threatening letters to President Roosevelt and threatened to blow up a Peoria church.It charged that Alwes wrote to the Rev, Walter Howhenstein threatening to blow up your damn church if you don't stop that kind of preaching, after hearing the clergyman deliver a radio sermon, The letters to President Roosevelt were not quoted in the indictment, but Aiwes was said to have addressed the President at 'P. D, Rosenfeld.
