Republican JLeaUer in Conway Uptor Helling Whiskey.(News and Courier.)Conway, August 16.—The Rev:George C. Singleton, chairman of the jRepublican party in this county, wasthis morning arrested for selling andstoring liquor j ust outside of the corporate limits of this town. A preliminary hearing before MagistrateSweet developed this fact thatGeorge was not only looking out forthe interests of his party, but himself as well George was bound overto Court and committed to jail onfailure to make bond.parade down Main streetGeorge’s arrest, wasnever before seen here. At the headof the parade, a small negro bovdrove a cart, conttuaing the “empties” that counted up thirty two andthree gallon jugs; five three and foHrand three-fourts gallon kegs; twohalf gallon bottles and a number ofquart bottles. These were a few otwhat the officers found on the premises. Behind the cart rode Singleton,driving his fatihful nag, closely followed by Sheriff Session and ChiefT A m K
