State might seek extended sentence in homicideTribune-Star staff reportFour prior felony convictions make a Terre Haute man charged with murder eligible for habitual offender status and enhanced sentencing. authorities say..Peck “Buddy” Ellinger, 42, appeared Monday in Vigo Superior Court 1, where he was formally charged with murtler, aggravatedbattery and unlawful possession of a firearm by a seriousviolent offender.Ellinger is accused of killing 33-year-old Thomas Fuller III on June 10 in Greenwood Manor Apartments in the 1900 block of23*/2 Drive.Ellinger had been a fugitive sought by police, but a tip led police to his location. He was taken into custody Saturday after a six hour standoff that ended afterpolice forced their way into a house in the 1400 block of Barbour Avenue.Ellinger is to return tocourt on Friday. He was being held in Vigo County Jail with no bail set.of 45 to 65 years.Information filed in court states Ellinger was convicted of escape, a ciass-C felony, in 1997 in Sullivan County. He was convicted in 2002 of driving after a lifetime forfeiture of license, and in 2005 of intimidation, both in Vigo County.
