Mrs. Mary McDermott and a “visitor’' Mrs. Annie Rosensteel, were the names to which the foulmouthed pair answered, and on their way to Jail they did not hesitate to inform all passers-by regarding just what kind of women they were. Sheriff Boggs says that never from man nor woman had he ever heard such vile, filthy epithets before and never wants to again. The 'hearing yesterday like the arrest, afforded quite a lot of amusement for the spectators. When askedif she had assulted Mrs. Stevens, a neighbor woman, she replied, “I tried to wring her neck!“Had you been drinking?” she was asked. “Just enough to make me right,” she replied. “ How many drinks does it take to make you “right?” the Squire asked. “I don’t know, I never tried to count them!” When asked who had brought the whisky, Mrs. Annie Rosensteel said that, “Mr®. Burns brought the next quart.”“Who else brought it? the defendant was asked.“Well, Mrs. McDermott brought the next and I got the next,”Mrs. Rosensteel was lined $10 to be paid to the school, and half the costs, and in default of this will serve 30 days in the jail. 'She said she had no -money and1 that none of her friends were here. She was charged with being an inmate of a bawdy house and a disorderly house.Mrs. McDermott was held for September court on a $300 bond, charged with keeping a bawdy house and a disorderly house. Bond was not • furnished. As she left the ‘Squire’s office she told Mrs. Stevens that she’d “get her again”All Is 1and syKHun in the to the ’ fair o tural | the wlt; entriesevcnmm. The tend in, and th ed.
