TRIPLE TRAGEDY.Sad Consequences or a Tennessee Desperado's Drunken Frenzy.A Tennessee desperado namo.l John Grayson. with his undo and two other companions. hart been riding rough slioi over the town cf Abingdon. Va. Grayson.after firing his pistol in the air on Mam street, then levels it in his drunken frenty at one o; his associates. A peaceable citizen, named I rigg, observing the danger of the latter, laid Ins band on Grayson’s shoulder and begged him not to shoot.* ,Grayson turned savagely on Trigg, at the same time placing the muzzle of his pistol against Trige’s shoulder und firing. Jrigg staggered and fell, fatally injured, dragging Grayson off bis horse. The infuriated assassin then turned and fled. A large crowd who had assembled upon hearing the repeated shouts pursued the ruffian with. cries Sf “Stop him:” -Catchhim:’ “Hang him! He fired another shot, and when captured was found to have a bullet in his left side-Trigg was carried to Isis homo nlcedmg and uppreuUy dead. His ag*l mother was so shocked at the sight that she died the same night Grayson expired the folio a mg morning.
