IIoe^e Thibf Abrkstkd.—Mr. R. McDonald, of Bethalto, informs us that there was great excitement in that place on Saturday, caused by a party of men bringing a horse thief, they had captured, into town for trial. The thief had been disabled by a shot in the shoulder. When captured he had six horses, a wagon and fine harness in his possession, all stolen from a farmer in the vicinity of Bethalto. The prisoner confessed his guilt and turned State's evidence, revealing the existence of an organized gang of thieves, with headquarters near Prairietown, in this county. The prisoner was committed to jail at Edwards-ville, and a party af citizens was organized and started at once in search of the thieves, whose existence the prisoner had revealed.
