A 43-year-old Phoenix man was held to answer yesterday for the Aug. 7 fatal shooting of His wife in a car at a service station, Melvin M. McClain of 2427 W. ‘Freeway ‘Lane was ordered to ‘stand trial for aurder in Supe rior Court after preliminary hearing before Justice of the ‘Peace Charles Coppock. _ He is accused of shooting his wife, Bernice B. McClain, 35, in the head with a pistol during an argument in a parked car at the Blakely service station, Black Canyon Freeway and Dunlap.
