Cox and wife, of Bevy, who have been in the county jail of Bummer* county fit the past few flays, obliged with the murder of their infant baby girl., which was found in Greenbrier river August 3stf were given ft preliminary hearing by ’Squire Hughes *t Hinton, Tuesday .and 'taude a clean breast of the wbole affair.They admitted throwing the body of the infant in the river, but claimed that it was dead at the time. They said that j they arrived at Hinton late and walked i to the park. While there Mrs. Co* _ asked her husband to place his coat • around.the infant that she might havc( her own, which was wrapped about thej baby at .that time, in making the ex*! change they claim that they, discovered the child to be dead. Cox then took the body and threw it in the river, river.Dr. McNeer testified at the inquest that the infant was dead when placed in| the river.'
